This story supports kids, including those with autism, in feeling prepared and comfortable, making the journey enjoyable and stress-free for the whole family. Like a social story, this social narrative uses simple language and visuals to explain what a road trip is, the kind of stops that happen during the trip, and what the child can do in the car during the road trip. The story also talks about the child staying in her seat with her seat belt on when riding in the car and staying near an adult when getting out of the car. There is a bonus celebratory social narrative I Had Fun on My Road Trip that can be read between stops or at the end of the trip to reinforce the positive behavior.
